A note on access: The Cathedral Park Staircase and Deck are currently unavailable for permit reservations due to St. Johns Bridge repair work. However, the Cathedral Park Amphitheater is available for reservations. If you’re having a simple ceremony with no more than the couple, officiant, and two witnesses, you may use the Staircase and Deck on a first-come, first-served basis as bridge repair work allows. St. Johns Bridge
The St. Johns Bridge is one of those landmarks that earns its reputation every single time. A Gothic suspension bridge painted seafoam green, flanked by forest on both sides and framing the Willamette River below — it’s been one of Portland’s most photographed spots for nearly a century, and it’s easy to see why.
